A dealership alongside every career
My working life has taken me through the oil fields, about 15 years driving a truck, and then into IT. The AMSOIL dealership has run alongside every one of those careers. It has remained part of my life as my work, responsibilities and location have changed.
Cold no-starts and gelled fuel aren't theory to me. My oil-field and trucking years are part of the background I bring to this site. That experience shapes the questions I think are useful: Is the fuel still flowing? Are you preparing for cold weather, or dealing with a problem now? Which directions apply to the bottle you actually have?
Different places, the same dealership
I've lived and worked in Kansas City, Omaha, Sandpoint in Idaho, Simi Valley in California and Denver. I grew the dealership through each move. Those places are part of my own background, and I identify that connection on the city pages where it applies.
The regional guides also cover cities beyond the places I've lived. For those pages, I show the weather sources and local winter facts used in the writing. A published weather example and a personal recollection are different things, and I want readers to be able to see where the information comes from.
Why I pay attention to the tools and numbers
I moved into IT after trucking and have spent over two decades in IT infrastructure leadership. That background is why I care about building the site's tools carefully and checking their inputs against AMSOIL's published data. A calculator is useful only when it uses the right rate for the selected product and package.
The treatment calculator links to the manufacturer documents behind its results. When package sizes use different treatment charts, the distinction belongs in the tool where you make the choice. I want you to be able to follow the calculation back to its source, then check the current label before measuring a dose.
The right treatment for the job
I built this site to make diesel fuel treatment easier to understand. Prevention and recovery are different jobs. So are injector cleaning and cetane improvement. The product pages, comparison guide and tools are organized around those choices, with sources shown so you can review the information yourself.
My goal is to help you choose the appropriate treatment and the right dose for your fuel volume. The official product documents and current package directions remain the references for application. You can find those documents together on the manufacturer information page.
